We are currently looking to appoint a Part time Newly Qualified Social Worker to join our team. Working Monday - Friday. The Person: Possess relevant social work experience, together with a Diploma or Degree in Social Work qualification or equivalent. Have an in-depth understanding of the Mental Health Act 1983 and be able to work within the requirements of this legislation Have excellent interpersonal, verbal and written skills. The Role: The post holder will support in providing a comprehensive social work service to the patient group, including incident reporting, treatment plans, discharge and transfer arrangements, social work reports and attending safeguarding meetings, CPA’s and MHRT’s as appropriate. To work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and with all other agencies/services in the community in order to meet patients’ needs. Provide a comprehensive social history following admission. Formulate and review social plans through attendance at progress reviews and formal meetings, Assist patients in exercising their rights under the Mental Health Act 1983, securing legal advice and representation where appropriate. Undertake all duties and responsibilities as specified in any legislation appropriate to working with people with a learning disability and their families. Periodically this may include working as an Appropriate Adult. Provision of case reports e.g. for courts MHRT’s , HMM’s, case reviews, enquiries etc and attending case discussions, conferences and reviews as required including those integral to adult protection procedures. To work in partnership with patients, staff and other statutory and non-statutory agencies. To fulfil the role of Family Liaison Officer for patients.
