Description of Vacancy

The revenues department is responsible for the billing and collection of council tax for the borough.

The role is to assist the revenues team by offering administrative support as well as liaising with other departments to deal with any queries.




37 Hours per week

Monday to Friday

20% paid time during working hours is given to complete training, referred to as “Off the Job Training”

Skills Required

  • Ability to carry out basic Office skills, including Word and Excel
  • Ability to follow set procedures and routines
  • Good telephone manner
  • Awareness of good customer service

Personal Qualities

  • Team player, willing to help out to support colleagues
  • Good timekeeping
  • Flexibility to deal with changing priorities and areas of work.
  • Willingness to learn

Qualifications Required

5 GCSE’s or equivalent GCSE Grade 4 to 9 (A-C) including Maths & English

Training Provided

On the job training with the employer whilst working towards the Apprenticeship Standard - Business administrators have a highly transferable set of knowledge, skills and behaviours that can be applied in all sectors. This includes small and large businesses alike; from the public sector, private sector and charitable sector. The role may involve working independently or as part of a team and will involve developing, implementing, maintaining and improving administrative services. Business administrators develop key skills and behaviours to support their own progression towards management responsibilities.
