 Job role definition:

Support / service Engineer within our Test and Assembly business group. Full-time, permanent position ideally working from our Staplehurst, Kent office

The candidate should have a good electronics test background in PCB manufacture. Own car and willing to travel to service and support our customers throughout the UK and Ireland

Reporting to the Accelonix Service & Support Manager:

This role is primarily associated with our Test, service  and support of multiple system platforms however may broaden to support other business needs.

Main duties and responsibilities: 

  • To become a detailed technical expert on Accelonix UK's test Divisions’ products including their operation, applications, and competitive position. 
  • To assist the Test and Assembly Business Division Manager in supporting the sales organization by providing technical support for the test products including demonstrations, presentations, seminars, and conferences, and by attending exhibitions. 
  • To support the installed systems with regular service and calibration visits to the customer in the UK and Ireland. Ability to travel and work using own initiative is an essential part of the role. 
  • In conjunction with the sales operation, to provide customer training on operation, applications, and techniques, as appropriate.   
  • Develop the test services business with both data preparation, testing customer products as part of the test services and help develop sales activities.
  • Presenting solutions to prospective customers to win new business. 
  • Presenting live demonstrations using the test systems to prospective customers. 
  • Establish and maintain positive and productive relationships with our suppliers. 
  • Responsible for commissioning and training of the customer on the supplied equipment at the customer’s site if required. 
  • Become familiar with the operation and programming of the various test / optical inspection and productions systems to be able to support customers in their usage.
  • Resolving Service and Support issues on site as required.
  • To assist the internal sales staff in resolving customer queries and problems. 
  • To gain and maintain a thorough understanding of competitors’ products and to feedback relevant information to the sales channel. 
  • To liaise with the sales channel and assist with sales plans and tender preparation and submission.
  • Active participation in regular team meetings. 
  • Maintain up-to-date schedule and record keeping in accordance with the Accelonix way of working. 
  • Flexibility and willingness to accommodate regular travel both within and outside the UK with associated overnight stays. This need for travel requires our engineering team to be flexible and responsive to our customer and company needs. This includes for being trained on our products.
  • Making customer calls to promote and expand the business.
