Facilities Services Engineer
Flexible across all 5 sites in Whitstable, Herne Bay and Canterbury


Full-time – 39 hours per week
£22,000 – £24,000 depending on experience


To deliver integrated property management solutions within the leisure industry. The engineer will be responsible for ensuring planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs are being carried out, respond to help desk queries and follow up with proactive solutions.


Main tasks and responsibilities:
To carry out reactive and planned maintenance that is received through the Fusion help desk.
To conduct work in accordance with established health and safety regulations and Fusion health and safety policies including the assessment of risk relating to the work being undertaken.
Maintain all statutory records and documentation as instructed and required by the duties of the
post and in accordance with Fusion procedures.
To liaise with the Helpdesk and Regional Manager on any health and safety matters.
To take care of and properly account for, plant equipment, assets, tools and spare parts, etc. on behalf of Active Life/Fusion.
To carry out general maintenance including but not limited to building and site repairs, fencing, painting, floor and wall tiling, furniture repairs, general DIY including replacing locks, handles.
To deal with the general upkeep of the interior of the buildings by painting and decorating annually.
Follow up with operational staff on planned and reactive maintenance to arrange times and access and feed this back to the appointed third-party contractor. Ensuring complaints are followed up and actioned in a timely manner.
First point of contact for third party vendors regarding operational issues on site when jobs/tasks are being completed.
Liaise with contractors and operations staff on small works projects as and when required.
Work collaboratively with the wider support team and share best practice.
 

Competencies:   Essential criteria:
Good general education is evidenced.
Experience:
Previous Facilities Maintenance experience of a suitable level
Proven track record in dealing with third-party vendors.
Experience of using a CAFM system.
General Maintenance experience in the leisure, sports, or hospitality industry
Knowledge and amp; Skills
Excellent organizational skills and can work in a methodical manner
Time management skills and ability to manage competing priorities
Good business and regulatory knowledge
Health and Safety, operational and building control legislation knowledge
Knowledge of facility management statutory inspection requirements and SFG20 standards
Excellent communication skills (ability to communicate to a high standard in good, clear English over the phone and in writing)

Excellent IT skills, including full Microsoft Office package
