Pineapple Contracts , a leading supplier of furniture to the healthcare, education and custodial markets are seeking a forward-thinking and highly experienced Logistics & Transportation Analyst to join our Team. As a Global business , with offices in the UK, France, Germany and the USA, we are seeking candidates that have excellent experience in Export freight and Global transportation - a good understanding of the USA geography and/or fluency in French and German would also be extremely advantageous. The role will be based at our flagship offices in Aylesford, near Maidstone, Kent, UK. There may also be the need for some domestic and international travel as part of the role. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Essential responsibilities but not limited to: Taking ownership of transport quotes and costs to make significant savings on deliveries across the UK and Worldwide Analyse and compare transport costs to and from the business Research the cost of potential warehouses across the world vs shipping directly to the customer Monitor and maintain relationships with transport and shipping companies Negotiate the best price at all times Work towards reducing transport costs by 10% globally Take ownership of shipping paperwork and licences for delivery Support with the implementation of new carriers Performance monitoring for carriers and continuously checking for volume uplift and identify issues Support the transport team with any day to day tasks and holiday/sick cover Essential Experience: Good knowledge of export freight and global transportation Knowledge of the USA geography Strong analytical and statistical skills Ability to construct complex data and make recommendations on the analysis Experience of developing transport network strategies Some finance experience would be preferable Have excellent planning skills and good attention to detail Resilient and tenacious to obtain information Good communication and influencing skills An understanding of the supply chain processes An Understanding of parts/logistics/transport processes Strong project management skills Highly proactive in problem identification and resolution PERSONALITY PROFILE: Excellent written and verbal communication skills Commercially minded – able to strike the right balance between necessity and cost to the Company Excellent at multi-tasking in a deadline driven environment Organised, pro-active and forward-thinking Ideally French and German speaking
