An ideal position for an outgoing person who enjoys helping people. Kent Bearings is a Bearings & Power Transmission distributor, supplying a whole range of industrial engineering products & services to trade and retail customers. We are a tight knit company and work across 3 depots and an Engineering workshop. As each depot has a Trade Counter with their own delivery vans & drivers, there are excellent prospects for advancement.
Travel information:
There is a bus stop outside our estate with regular bus service. Provision for bicycles in secure indoor bike rack. On-site parking is also available.
Description of Vacancy
Work as part of a busy team in a friendly environment. Your role will include general stores and office duties including serving on our Trade counter, providing a great customer experience. You will be providing professional, efficient support to the team on the trade counter, stores and in the office.
We are looking for someone to support our team with customer enquiries. Some of the duties will include:
  • Serving on the trade counter
  • Checking in goods
  • Getting deliveries up
  • Keeping stores tidy
  • Loading delivery van
  • Stock checking
  • Answering phones
  • Phoning suppliers
  • Using purpose-built computer
  • Keeping office tidy
£201 per week
Monday to Friday, 8.30am - 5pm 1 hour unpaid lunch break
20% paid time during working hours is given to complete training, referred to as "Off the Job Training"

Qualifications Required
GCSE Level 9-4 (or Grade A-C) in English and Maths, or equivalent qualifications in these subjects.
Training Provided
On the job training with the employer whilst working towards the Apprenticeship Standard - Customer Services Practitioner Level 2 will establish an Apprentice's skills to deliver high quality service to customers and the customer experience, understanding the organisation, its products/services and their role and responsibilities. Regular work-based assessments/observations carried out by Kent Training & Apprenticeships Tutor Assessor, to determine competency and meet with Awarding Body Standards.
Additional Detail
As of 1st April 2023, the NMW for Apprentices is £5.28 per hour. This applies to 16-18 year old Apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other Apprentices the Apprentice National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies.
The wage for Apprentices applies to both time spent on the job plus time spent in training.
Important Information
