About The Role
Are you a BSL signer that could make the world of difference to our students? Are you passionate about supporting young people who have a range of communication needs. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified BSL signer to work with our deaf and hearing impaired students to empower them by supporting their opportunities for education and employment.
In your role as a Communication Support Practitioner you will use a range of support strategies to select and adapt tasks, resources and learning activities, to encourage and motivate students working in conjunction with ALS tutors and to undertake with teaching staff EHCP In-Year Reviews for students with hearing impairment and attend/support communication in Annual Reviews.

All of our CSW roles work 38 weeks of the year primarily in term time to work directly with the students. We are able to offer roles on a part time and full time basis and if you would like to discuss the role informally then please email email@example.com and we can arrange this for you.
The successful candidate will be a committed and enthusiastic person to join our team of dedicated Communication Support Practitioners to provide BSL signing support to individuals and/or groups of learners with a hearing impairment, who are attending mainstream course. We are willing to support progression from L2 BSL to L3 BSL
The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic, motivated and imaginative signer who is qualified to minimal level 3 (we may be able to accommodate candidates with level 2 BSL an working toward level 3)British Sign language and who will nurture positive attitudes to learning resulting in the best outcomes for our students. You will have an excellent understanding of the role and impact of additional learning support and will make a significant contribution to the development of teaching and learning at EKC Group.
The role may also include personal care, assisting with mobility and specific medical/feeding needs. Experience in working with the above needs would be an advantage but full training will be given.
