As a Lecturer of Maths and English at EKC Sheppey College, you’ll spark curiosity, build confidence, and help students unlock their full potential. No two days are the same - from teaching and training to guiding learners toward success, you’ll play a key role in shaping their futures.

  • Deliver engaging and high-quality lessons in Maths and English across a range of learning environments.

  • Support and inspire learners to reach their goals and achieve their best.

  • Lead on designated study programmes or courses; designing, delivering, and evaluating engaging content.

Salary per year: £12,687 up to £13,899

About You

Are you ready to inspire learners and make a real impact? As a Maths and English Lecturer, you’ll bring creativity, energy, and empathy to every lesson; helping students build confidence and skills that last a lifetime.

What we’re looking for:

  • A highly organised and creative teacher who can plan and deliver engaging, innovative lessons.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and connect with learners.

  • Confidence in assessing and tracking student progress, identifying where extra support or challenge is needed.

  • A positive, empathetic approach and solid classroom management skills.

Your experience:

  • Ideally, you’ll have teaching experience or have delivered training in the workplace — but don’t worry if you haven’t!

  • We provide full training through our Teacher Academy, so passion and the right attitude are what matter most.

You’ll be teaching:

  • A range of study programmes and courses, from Entry Level up to Level 2, supporting learners to achieve and succeed.

Please note that there are two salary scale points for our Lecturer positions. All candidates will start at the introductory salary scale point unless certain criteria are met. Lecturers will normally move up to the highest salary scale once one full academic year of teaching for our group is complete. (Lecturers must be in post by 1st September in any given year to qualify and this is subject to approval). Therefore, internal applicants in the same role may qualify for the higher salary scale, although should seek clarification
