Quality Control & Compliance Manager (Manufacturing)

My client is a growing manufacturing business with an international presence. Spearheaded by a forward-thinking, innovative MD, they are seeking like-minded individuals to join their team.

They require a Quality Control & Compliance Manager. They will be responsible for ensuring that high standards are met across the organisation and that the company is adhering to industry regulations, other legislative and statutory requirements, and internal standards through robust quality auditing and reporting on all quality control information gathered; communicating key messages and presenting data to different audiences, making recommendations for improvements or efficiencies, and supporting individuals, teams and the company to achieve better quality outcomes.

The role will involve maintaining all ISO certifications and accreditations and scheduling internal and external audits to ensure all processes and procedures are reviewed and updated regularly.

We are seeking a dynamic and independent professional with solid quality, audit, and compliance experience, and a flexible, enthusiastic, and can-do attitude to join our team.

*Develop and establish the company's quality procedures, standards, and specifications
*Gap analysis to identify key areas of improvement
*Review customer requirements and make sure they are met
*Work closely with the purchasing department to establish quality requirements from external suppliers
*Set standards for and take ownership of quality control as well as health and safety across the business
*Ensure manufacturing and production processes meet international and national standards
*Identify ways to reduce waste and increase efficiency
*Define quality procedures in conjunction with operating staff
*Build and maintain controls and documentation procedures
*Review existing policies and make suggestions for changes and improvements including how to implement them
*Measure performance by gathering relevant data and producing statistical reports, identify any areas of weakness and make recommendations for implementing improvements
*Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of changes made
*Liaise with colleagues across the wider business in identifying and providing training, tools, and techniques to enable others to meet quality standards
*Train and manage a team of quality control technicians
*Ensure the company is working as effectively as possible to keep up with competitors
*Take accountability for creating both long-term and short-term plans to ensure that no illegal activities occur across the business
*Conduct interviews and surveys to ensure that employees are compliant with regulations across the company's various departments
*Conduct investigations to discover the root cause of compliance problems when they arise
*Perform research to stay informed about environmental standards
*Educate employees and partners through documentation and brochures on how to improve compliance
*Examine and improve auditing processes to resolve compliance issues fast or prevent them entirely
*Host internal meetings with employees to address any concerns that they may have about ethical and compliance matters within a department or industry
*Motivate employees to not only strive to meet compliance standards but also to exceed them for operating efficiency
*Take the lead in assisting with the design of programs that improve compliance

*Degree in Quality Management or similar
*Experience in a manufacturing environment would be highly recommended
*Able to analyse large data sets to identify themes, and risks and make recommendations for improvements
*Proven experience in developing and implementing quality standards & measures
*Auditing skills
*Excellent IT skills, particularly Excel and other data analysis tools
*Proven experience in managing compliance frameworks e.g. risk management, business continuity, document management, and quality management preferably with integrated management systems
*Knowledge and understanding of ISO accreditation, specifically 9001, 14001
*Proven experience in leading all ISO audits internally and externally
*Understanding and experience in implementing Quality Management Systems
