For over 20 years, J&R Care have been providing specialised, high-quality care for young males aged 10-17 with developmental trauma, attachment difficulties and who can display challenging behaviour as communication to how they are feeling.

We are looking for a an experienced and committed Senior Waking Night Worker to join us in continuing to provide outstanding tailored therapeutic support to our young people within our 6 bed residential home. As a Senior WNO you will also supervise the rest of the waking night staff.

As a Waking Night Worker at J&R Care, it is essential that you are able to remain awake and alert throughout your shift, in order to safeguard our young people. You will work with openness and compassion, with an ability to set and maintain boundaries to keep our
young people safe.

Your main responsibilities include:

  • Maintain a safe, nurturing and inclusive home environment
  • Supervise and record movements during the night
  • Promote and look after the health and well-being of each child
  • Work in line with the young people’s risk assessments and emotional & behavioural plans
  • Recognise, respond to and record any safeguarding concerns, ensuring accurate records are kept

You will already have experience working with young people in a residential setting and we are committed to developing you in your new position. It would be great if you
have an NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare (or equivalent), however if not, we will enroll you onto the diploma and fully support you in achieving this qualification.
