Canterbury Road is seeking a school Site manager to join our friendly, happy school.
We need someone who is hands on and likes to be busy. This is an important, practical and physical role which keeps the site and school community safe and ensures it is a lovely place to work and learn in.
The role includes maintaining the cleanliness of the outdoor areas, doing minor repairs, decorating, weeding, moving furniture and deliveries and other jobs that keep the school running smoothly. The successful person would ensure that regular checks on the fire and water systems etc. are recorded accurately - training will be provided. There may be the occasional ‘call out’ and you will be an emergency key holder. You will also manage the school cleaners and liaise with contractors whilst on site. Ideally, you will live within 20 minutes of the school.
You must be proactive and able to adapt and respond to the needs of the staff and site. You will join a happy team who will make you welcome. You must be willing to attend training for your role.
This role is for 30 hours per week Monday to Friday 6 hours daily. School needs to be locked up at 6pm but hours around this may be negotiated at interview. This post involves working in the school holidays and the working pattern in these is agreed between the caretaker and headteacher.
We require the successful candidate to start as soon as possible but can negotiate a later start date for the ideal person.

Canterbury Road Primary School is a one form entry primary school close to Sittingbourne town centre and within easy reach of the M2, M20 and the train station.
