Job Title: Warehouse Operative (Day Shift)
Reports To: Warehouse Supervisor / Shift Manager / Team Leader


Role Summary:

We are looking for a reliable Warehouse Operative to support the smooth running of our warehouse operations. You will be responsible for picking, moving, and handling stock safely and efficiently, ensuring orders are accurate, and supporting the packing and dispatch teams. Experience operating Material Handling Equipment (MHE) is essential, and safety, accuracy, and quality are a top priority.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately pick items from storage locations using handheld devices.

  • Ensure correct labelling of items for dispatch, including SSCC labels.

  • Safely operate MHE for moving stock, loading, and unloading.

  • Move products to the correct storage areas and supply packing lines as needed.

  • Ensure correct product presentation for production to meet order deadlines.

  • Perform daily MHE checks, report damages, and ensure all equipment is charged and ready.

  • Maintain a clean and organized warehouse (“clean as you go”).

  • Scan pallets and locations accurately, ensuring all movements are recorded.

  • Load pallets onto vehicles safely and ensure they are secured correctly.

  • Check incoming loads, accurately label, and record all received stock.

  • Support market picking and pallet building, following customer specifications.

  • Follow Health & Safety policies at all times and wear correct PPE.

  • Communicate effectively with warehouse management and admin teams.

  • Continuously look for ways to improve warehouse processes.

  • Adhere to all relevant industry standards including BRC, HACCP, and Tesco Produce Packing Standards (TPPS).

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Basic written and verbal English and Maths.

  • Ability to lift and handle products safely.

  • Confident driving of MHE (trained and signed off).

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

  • Experience working in a warehouse environment preferred.

  • Strong team working skills and attention to detail.
